Diego Pazó
A Fine Arts graduate from the University of Vigo, he began dancing through breakdancing in 2008, competing nationally and internationally. He took his first steps in contemporary dance almost entirely self-taught, attending workshops and training sessions with international instructors since 2014.
From a young age, he began participating in small projects and creating his first sketches of short works in his local area. In 2019, he began his dance studies at La Faktoria Choreographic Center in Pamplona, where he has studied with teachers such as Laura Aris, Thomas Hauert, Thi-Mai Nguyen, Germán Jauregui, Isael Mata, Marta Coronado, and Mark Tompkins –among many others–.
He currently works with the Daniel Abreu Company –Es Aquí, Selva, Dalet [DA]– and LED Silhouette –Les Noces, Halley–, in addition to creating his own works and workshops with Qabalum.
In recent years, he has also performed with the company. Jesús Rubio –Acciones Sencillas, Gran Bolero–, Proyecto Larrua –Baserri–, Joao Cidade –While The Others Go Wild–, and Vero Cendoya –La Partida–, as well as other smaller projects for companies and artists such as AVRIGO Studio, Isael Mata, Laida Aldaz, Elías Aguirre, and VAYA Art of Human Movement. In parallel, he also pursues a career in education and outreach, having been a guest instructor in training programs such as TRY Dance Program, SEAD Movementors, Profitraining Freiburg, and at various cultural institutions.
QABALUM
After completing his studies in Pamplona and meeting Lucía Burguete, he founded the company QABALUM, which they co-direct, creating and performing their own works in Europe and around the world. Among their most notable works are LA MEDIDA QUE NOS HA DE DIVIDIR and TODO ESTE RUIDO, which have obtained numerous awards and accolades.
